This is going to be so much fun…. Goodreads is my favorite website ever because it has everything that I need – books, reviews, recommendations and friends too. When I just got into reading series, I don’t know what I would have done without this remarkable site. It just made it so easy to keep track of the books, series, upcoming novels – just everything. I wish the app had more features but hey, we sometimes have to make do with what we have, coz we love it anyways. Now let’s get going with this super fun tag featuring the most superb website ever….!!!!
WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS ‘READ’?
The one that made me laugh and cry and gave me all sorts of feels. The last and final book of the Grisha trilogy – Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. I am totally in love with the books, the characters, the Grishaverse… just everything 😍😍😍😍
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
Ok.. so I am usually always reading multiple books. But I just finished a couple, so the only one right now on my Goodreads currently reading shelf is The Power by Naomi Alderman. Just trying to understand what happens to the world when women become all powerful and men get scared of them.
WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS TBR?
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo. Can you believe it!!!! When I finished the Grisha trilogy, I wished that there would be more books about Nikolai. Lo and behold, couple hours later I found out that there is indeed going to be a duology featuring him. Now that’s just amazing. I know that the excruciating long wait is going to be worth it.
WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO READ NEXT?
That’s a big list and nothing ever goes according to plan. I am still contemplating if I should get out of the fantasy worlds and read an adventure for a change. And I have lots of options. So it’s going to be one of the below:
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Origin by Dan Brown
This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
DO YOU USE THE STAR RATING SYSTEM?
I do use the Goodreads rating system but it’s a little difficult to slot the books into these categories all the time. I especially have a problem with books that are not very good but not bad either. I just wish there were half stars available, especially 2.5 and 3.5. I have read a lot of books that are potential additions to these two buckets but I had to settle for a 3 instead.
ARE YOU DOING A 2017 READING CHALLENGE?
Of course I am and I am way ahead. That too after modifying the challenge to increase the number in the middle of the year. I am super excited 😆
DO YOU HAVE A WISHLIST?
A huge one. I would love to buy all the books that are on my to-read shelf.
WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO BUY NEXT?
I don’t know exactly. I am trying to avoid buying and wait for the Library books to get out of the long waitlist, but it’s not always easy. I can never be sure what I will end up buying because I am so impulsive, but I am definitely waiting for The Demon Crown by James Rollins. I will make sure I read it on the day of its release because I love everything about Sigma Force.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE QUOTES? SHARE A FEW.
I only started keeping track of quotes after I started this blog, so I don’t have a big list but let me share a couple of recent ones that I loved.
“Reading makes people impudent, and tomorrow’s world is going to need some people who aren’t shy to speak their minds.” – The Little Paris Bookshop
“The world’s rulers should be forced to take a reader’s license. Only when they have read five thousand—no, make that ten thousand—books will they be anywhere near qualified to understand humans and how they behave.” – The Little Paris Bookshop
“No one has ever lost by becoming addicted to stories—to the lessons learned by those who possess enough courage to put pen to paper.” – The Secret, Book and Scone Society
“America is a good idea brought to life and made real. We exist as an ongoing act of collective will, rooted in the conviction that shared beliefs matter more than shared bloodlines.” – Beyond the Messy Truth
“We are alive only because we love. Even if we love nothing else, we love our own Life. And Love is that which keeps us alive. But loving only your own life is such a waste of love and of life.” – Part Star Part Dust
“But for a society built on exploitation, there is no greater threat than having no one left to oppress. Someone must suffer, if the rest are to enjoy luxury.” – The Stone Sky
“Change is a slow flower to bloom. Most of us will not see its full radiance. We plant it not for ourselves, but for future generations.” – City of Miracles

HAVE YOU JOINED ANY GROUPS?
I try to join groups but it’s so difficult to keep track of them, so I mostly abandon them. But one that I joined this week and plan to follow frequently is Top 5 Wednesday.
Wow this was a fun tag…. My blogger friends, please do share your thoughts. I really would love to know more about your favorite books and authors.
