As the month of May is coming to an end, I’m all excited to start Marvel-A-Thon and not in a mood to write any review posts yet. That’s why it’s nice to be tagged by amazing bloggers so that my blog doesn’t become dull and boring.
I have Sara @ The Bibliophagist to thank for this wonderful tag where she has made me think quite a lot before answering. Go ahead and checkout her page for more wonderful posts and proceed to read what I have to say.
Have you ever damaged a book?
Not intentionally. But recently, I got a call from Mom informing me that there was a termite infestation back home which seems to have turned some of my old books to dust 😫😫😫
How long does it take you to read a book?
Most contemporaries would probably take me a day. Most fantasies too unless I’m not in the mood for fast reading and/or listening to the audiobook.
Books that you haven’t finished?
There are many many books that I have DNDed because I didn’t like them, but there are a few (listed below) which I stopped reading because it wasn’t the right time for me and would like to pick up soon.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
The Handsome Girl & Her Beautiful Boy by B.T. Gottfred
The Star-touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena
Hyped/popular books you don’t like?
These are not books that I hated but just didn’t live up to all the hype.
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas
Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Scoring Wilder by R.S.Grey
Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?
Not if anyone asked me directly but I don’t really discuss what books I’m reading with anyone at home.
How many books do you own?
My kindle says I own 287 books and I probably have around 60-70 physical books.
Are you a fast or a slow reader?
Pretty fast reader.
Do you like to buddy read?
I didn’t think I would but I have greatly enjoyed our readalongs as part of Jessica’s Book Club.
Do you read better in your head or out loud?
Definitely in my head.
If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?
That’s a very tough choice. I would love to cheat and own the whole Grishaverse books. One book is too hard to survive on.

Charvi @ Not Just Fiction

I’d agree with the Grishaverse; very smart cheating haha. 😉 Also, condolences on the termites obliterating your books!

Ohh I would cheat some more for the grishaverse 😜😜
Ya those books were of sentimental value, so I feel bad.. can’t do anything about it though 😔😔

I have to agree that I didn’t enjoy Leah on the Offbeat either. It just wasn’t that great.

There was just that magic from Simon vs missing in this one …

I agree. That spark wasn’t there unfortunately.

I know 😔😔😔 Some of my first books bought with my own money… I’m definitely gonna miss them !!!

I felt the same way about Fangirl. Everyone I knew was like OMG it’s amazing and it just fell flat for me. I would also pick the Grishaverse books…just throw them all into one giant anthology and I’d be good to go.

I know… I loved Carry On but couldn’t connect much to Fangirl…
I will wait for Nikolai’s duology to be completed… then they can turn them all into an anthology 😜😜😜

Ohh I love that you picked a Leigh Bardugo book to read “forever” – and Children of Blood and Bone is such a hyped book, but I definitely lost interest in it after I read some of the less glowing reviews.
And I’m sorry about those books that were destroyed!! I feel your pain. 😦

Leigh’s writing is too precious to not have with me forever 😍😍
I stopped COBAB after a couple of chapters coz I wasn’t feeling it and then when I read the average reviews, I realized I wasn’t alone…
Those books were very close to my heart coz I bought them with my own money during my first job after college.. my mom tried her best to care for them but it just happened 😔😔😔 I’ll try to build a new collection 😊

I agree!! She’s an amazing writer & I can’t wait for SoC #3!
Wow this actually breaks my heart, but I’m crossing my fingers that you’ll soon have enough books to fill all your bookshelves again. ❤

I hope so too… I’ll start small this time with only my favorites 😊😊
SoC 3 is a dream come true… hopefully she’ll atleast give us the year soon…

I hated Eliza and her monsters too. Didn’t really connect to it.

I enjoyed the webcomic and fanfic part of the story but couldn’t connect to the characters at all…
