I don’t think I’ve ever waited months to do a tag because I just couldn’t figure out what to write. As you can read in my little blogging sister Charvi’s post @ Not Just Fiction, she had to bang her head against the wall to figure out her answers. But, that didn’t stop her from tagging me so that I could proceed to do exactly the same πππ
Obviously, no fictional character can be completely relatable but I’m going to list down some of my favorites whose certain qualities resonate with me a lot.
And please dont forget to check out Charvi’s blog because she is the funniest and sweetest writer I know ππ
I’ve also just recently been tagged by Of All the Books In All the Libraries for this same tag, so please go on to their blog to explore more awesome posts..!!!
Rules:
- Thank the creators of the tag βΒ Ash and LoΒ @Windowsill Books
- Thank whoever tagged you. – Not Just Fiction and Of All the Books in All the Libraries
- Β List 5 book character who you relate to most and explain why.
- Tag some of your friends!
Me In Book Characters
Aelin from Throne of Glass
Now now… Dont worry!!! I’m nor an assassin neither a queen πππ
What I can relate to most about her is her love of reading. Just like her, I would forego sleep in a heartbeat and bury myself in a wonderful book.
Her love of beautiful clothes is another trait that we share. My closet is full of colorful dresses, some of which I haven’t worn yet.
And finally comes our absolute obsession with chocolate. I can definitely stuff myself with a few pounds of delicious chocolaty goodness just like she does on Samhuin.
As you can clearly see…there is a lot of potential for us to be BFFs!!!!!
Peyton from The Law of Tall Girls
Before this book, I had never read a book about a tall girl dealing with some unique problems and I totally related to her. Not being comfortable while sitting in a bus or flight due to long legs, not finding tall clothes and size 12 shoes – all of Peyton’s discomforts felt like my own and reading this book made me very nostalgic.
Obviously, this book starts with Peyton not finding a tall boy to date which was not something I could relate to (See… there was no concept of dating when I was in high school in India) but, I remember a lot of aunties and grandmas telling my parents that they would have so much trouble finding a boy for me and they should start looking early *sigh*.
Max from The Start of Me and You
I might not be as sweet and precious as Max, but I can definitely relate to his love of spending weekends hanging around in bookstores for hours.
Just like him, I would love to talk endlessly about my obsession for Pride and Prejudice and binge watching TV shows.
Rishi from When Dimple Met Rishi
Obviously, Dimple and Rishi are very close to my heart being some of the first Indian-American MCs in mainstream YA. But what resonated with me most was Rishi’s love for our traditions and his interest in talking to everyone around him about our culture.
Winnie from My So-Called Bollywood Life
I felt really seen and validated when I read this book because Winnie’s obsession of Bollywood movies was like a true reflection of a side of myself. Dreaming about SRK, enjoying the dramatic nature of our movies, our signature songs and dances and re-watching all old favorites to the point where you can remember every single dialogue – reading about all this made me extremely happy. Even our favorite movies are all the same.. can’t get any better than that.

I totally agree! Itβs like having to keep a notebook of all such tags to update as and when you finish each book because there are so many awesome characters and stories out there! Also, I got to know that youβre tall and that you love clothes in addition to your love for books via this post! An entertaining readπ
