I’ve been in a weird mood this week – reading a lot but not feeling very invested in them, not at all able to write any reviews and might be coming up on slump soon 😫😫😫 But I can’t have no posts this week, so I’m here with this idea that I first saw on Mel’s blog @ Mel to the Any. She is the best reviewer you can find and the sweetest person I know, always encouraging me – so I implore you all to checkout her blog because it’s awesome !!!! And below are some of the highest rated books on my TBR that have already been published.
💨 10. The Four Legendary Kingdoms by Matthew Reilly
4.29 | 4,640 ratings | 549 reviews
It’s a shame that this book is still on my TBR because I bought it as a gift to myself for my birthday almost 18 months ago. It’s also the fourth installment in one of my favorite series and I can’t figure out why I am waiting. But I still love Jack West Jr. and I will get to it soon.
💨 9. The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
4.30 | 81,431 ratings | 11,328 reviews
I have always been fascinated by mythologies of various countries though I haven’t read any of the classic novels. That’s why, this book made it to my TBR as soon as I heard of it (Also I have no patience to read The Odyssey). Why have I still not read it … no clue 🤔🤔🤔
💨 8. Yes We (Still) Can by Dan Pfeiffer
4.32 | 856 ratings | 97 reviews
I’m not a very big fan of biographies and the only non-fiction books that interest me are related to politics. When I saw this book on a shelf at B&N last week, I immediately added it to my TBR. And anyone who loves listening to Pod Save America, should definitely read this one.
💨 7. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
4.32 | 119,269 ratings | 17,170 reviews
Obviously, everyone seems to love this one. I know I probably will too, but I am just not in the right headspace for an intense fantasy.
💨 6. Illuminae by Amy Kauffman, Jay Kristoff
4.32 | 69,991 ratings | 17,353 reviews
I actually did start this book but had to return it to the library. Though I almost never read sci-fi, I really did find the format very interesting and the audiobook has wonderful effects.
💨 5. Scythe by Neal Shusterman
4.35 | 36,723 ratings | 7,623 reviews
I really find the premise of this book very interesting and I’m sure I will read it someday 😀😀😀
💨 4. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
4.37 | 32,727 ratings | 7,665 reviews
I’m not usually someone to be put off by hype, but this book is extensively loved and I don’t want to be disappointed. Also, it seems to have elements of magical realism in it and I’m not sure if I will enjoy that.
💨 3. Circe by Madeline Miller
4.40 | 23,275 ratings | 4,391 reviews
Another Madeline Miller book on the list… why am I not surprised. I just know that I have to read it… very very soon !!!!
💨 2. Moxie by Jennifer Matheiu
4.40 | 7,564 ratings | 2,142 reviews
I have been very excited to read this book since I spoke to Jennifer at the NovaTeen Book Festival and as usual, it’s still sitting on shelf unread. Hopefully, I will read it soon.
💨 1. The Accidentals by Sarina Bowen
4.46 | 358 ratings | 172 reviews
I’m actually surprised this book is the one on top, considering it just released last week. But I have only heard good things about it and I’m very confident that Sarina will make me very emotional just like with all her other books.
The song of Achilles is amazing!! And scythe will flow you mind away!!! I reviewed the song like a week ago and I cannot stop talking about it!! You have to!!!

I’m currently reading The Song of Achilles. I’ve always liked Greek Mythology so I thought I should give Madeline Miller’s retelling a shot. Not really sure how I feel about it. I thought the writing style was simplistic. But I really enjoyed Illuminae and Scythe. Hope you do too! Happy reading. 🙂

Thank you so much Claire… I haven’t actually read any Greek mythology, so simplistic might work in my favor…
And I hope I Start Illuminae or Scythe soon…
