Hello my dear book lovers and welcome to another readathon. I’ve realised that reading books for a readathon is lot of fun and I especially love figuring out books that fit the challenges and the sense of satisfaction when I finish them is amazing ๐๐๐
So, here I am, back again with another readathon. And this one is going to be even more fun because all I have to do is read books that I predict will be 5 star reads for me. Despite my motto being “Read what you want and don’t worry what others think”, I also get swept up in the hype of new releases and deadlines for reviewing ARCs. So, this is going to be a happy week of catching up with some of the books that I really believe I’m going to love.
Five-Star Readathon (or #fivestarathon) is being hosted by Elise @ The Bookish Actress, Julianna @ Paper Blots and May @ Forever and Everly from 12 am, Monday, October 1st, to 11:59 pm, Sunday, October 7th. There are also some challenges which are optional and I’m going to try to fit some of my most anticipated reads to fulfil them.
CHALLENGES
- Read a next book in a series you like
- Read a book by a favorite author
- Read a book you were anticipating and never got around to reading
- Read a book over 500 pages
- Read five books
MY TBR!
It might be too ambitious of me to expect to read 5 books in a week (especially because I don’t read on weekends) but I am definitely going to try to finish the first four challenges.
I just finished the third issue of Fence during Contemporary-A-Thon last month and this has been such a fun series. I love the art style and the diverse cast of characters is amazing. And no one does the enemies to lovers trope better than C.S. Pacat. I can’t wait to continue with the next issue.
Fence Issue 4 does fulfil the challenge for favorite author as well because I have not rated any book of hers less than 4 stars till date. But if I do find time, I would love to read Foolish Hearts. This has been on my bookshelf for so long and after rating First & Then 5 stars, I’m pretty sure I will love this one too.
I waited so long for this book and ended up ordering it from Book Depository because it hasn’t released in the US yet. Then, I became too moody as usual and never got around to reading it. Hopefully, this is the week I will. I also love following the author Laura Steven on Twitter and I have very high expectations from this one.
I still have no clue why I haven’t read this book yet. I adore the world of the Remnant Chronicles and there is no doubt in my mind that this will be the beginning of another wonderful series from Mary. Also, this book satisfies the previous challenge too, so I might just end up reading this one to fulfil both.
I really don’t expect to get to this book within the week but it’s definitely on my TBR for the month. This is going to be a buddy read with Tova @ Petyr Baeish Booksย for October and we both hope to love this one as much as the whole bookish community seems to.
Apart from this readathon, I am also buddy reading My Lady Jane with my Overbooked Book Club which consists of many of my bookstagram friends. I’ve heard great things about it, so I’m going to try the audiobook and discuss with my buddies all through the month.
Are any of you participating in the readathon? Let me know what you are planning to read. And please feel free to share your thoughts about the books on my list above!!!ย
