T5W: Most Anticipated 2019 Releases featuring characters of Indian heritage

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Samantha and you can get more details at the Goodreads group.

My yesterday’s post already lists some of the releases from the first quarter of 2019 that I’m very excited to read. So, I’m not gonna repeat them and talk about some of the books I’m anticipating from Indian diaspora authors in the first half of this upcoming year.

It’s always fascinating to think about how a modern Indian woman in the west would deal with an arranged marriage setup and I’m quite excited to see how this will play out in the book.

The takeover effect

Nisha Sharma’s My So-Called Bollywood Life was the most I laughed while reading a book this year, and I know I will read anything she writes. This one is obviously very different but I’m always up for a good love story.

There is nothing more satisfying for me than reading a fantasy novel which takes it’s inspiration from Indian mythology. After the wonderful experience I had with A Spark of White Fire this year, I’m highly anticipating this debut by another Indian author and I have a feeling it will be a lot of fun.

the unlikely adventures of shergill sisters

Family sagas are always very emotional to read and this story about three sisters making the journey to India to fulfil their mother’s last wish promises to be all that and more.

Sandhya Menon is awesome and I’ve been waiting for this book since I read When Dimple Met Rishi. Also, it’s very special to see Indian and fat rep in the same book alongwith that gorgeous happy cover.

Are you excited to read any of these books? What books are you excited for the most? Do share your TBRs with me !!!!
