TTT: Favorite Couples of 2018

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish that now has a new home at That Artsy Reader Girl.

It’s Valentine’s Week and it’s always a great feeling to talk about my favorite couples because I read a lot of romances and I have a very emotional shipper heart… !!!! It has not been easy to bring this list down to 10 but let’s get started.

10. Emma and Julian

The Dark Artifices finally comes to an end in Queen of Air and Darkness and I have to say, Emma and Julian were not always my favorite ship in the Shadowhunter universe, but I really came to root for them in this book. They just are too perfect for each other.

9. Winnie and Dev

My So-Called Bollywood Life was the book that gave me a lot of joy and the adorable romance between Winnie and Dev gave me all the SRK style vibes that I could have asked for.

8. Marlee and Gavin

I probably love Marlee more than Gavin in Intercepted because she is a total badass but their love was based on mutual respect and that’s definitely what makes their couple so memorable.

7. Jase and Kazi

Dance of Thieves_FINAL 9.18

Mary Pearson writes wonderful romances in fantasy and Jase and Kazi in Dance of Thieves are no different. This is a nice enemies to lovers romance with a dash of forced proximity and I loved every second of it.

6. Jess and Abby

Not Your Sidekick was a delight to read and Abby and Jess are one of the cutest couples ever. Read this book for all it’s sapphic goodness and wonderful superhero story.

5. Irene and Kai

mortal word

I don’t even know if I can call Irene and Kai a couple because their slow burn has been too slow and going on for almost 5 books now. But it’s a great friendship and I just love them together so much and it was lovely to see more of them in The Mortal Word.

4. Oz and Silas

Lily Morton writes the funniest romances and Oz is no different. All the interactions between Silas and Oz are sweet, adorable and completely hilarious and I fell utterly in love with them.

3. Josh and Hazel

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating gives us a great couple who are best friends first and the development of their relationship is just too awesome. This book is all heart and there’s no way I can love Hazel less. She is one of a kind.

Jamie and Ryan / Damon and Laurent

Childhood best friends to lovers is my favorite romance trope and I haven’t read a book that does it more justice than Him / Us. Jamie and Ryan are an absolutely amazing couple with a solid relationship and I’m so happy I read this duology.

And because I can’t choose, the other couple on the top is Damon and Laurent – the most delicious slow burn enemies to lovers relationship I have ever read. The way the author develops their relationship throughout the Captive Prince trilogy is masterful and I’m completely in awe of Pacat’s writing.

Are any of these couples on your favorites list too? Who are some of your most beloved couples? Do let me know so we can all have a chat ….!!!!
