Top Five Tuesday is a fun meme created by Bionic Book Worm to share our love for lists every week.
I have seen so many bloggers and booktubers do five star predictions before, but I have always refrained because I didn’t want to put too many expectations on the books I was going to read. But there’s always a first time, so let me try to guess what I think might be some of my favorite reads this year and we can always compare notes later.
Though I’ve given 4 stars to both the previous books by Sandhya, this one features a fat brown girl and I really have a feeling that the author is going to be great at this representation and I will completely fall in love with the book. Can’t wait for the release.
This book is one of my most anticipated fantasies of this year and I will be very surprised if it doesn’t end up being a 5 star. Anything Indian inspired excites me a lot and I’m so happy that I have just more than a week left before I can read this beauty.
Nevernight was such bloody fun to read and I’m very sure Godsgrave is gonna be a 5 star too. I’m just waiting so that I can read it closer to the release of Darkdawn.
It’s not easy to arrive at a 5 star for an anthology, but this one about the beauty of interracial relationships sounds absolutely wonderful and I just have a feeling that it will be a favorite.
As a huge Mahabharata fan, I knew I was going to love A Spark of White Fire even before I read it, but the author completely blew me away. And I expect nothing less from it’s spectacular sequel.
When I started out this post, I actually didn’t know what books I was going to include. But now that I’ve listed down these amazing books, I’m not surprised that there are so many desi and POC authors, because these are the authors whose unique voices and perspectives make stories so much more memorable.
Do you think you will love any of these books too? What are some of your 5 star predictions for this year? Please share your recommendations or lists in the comments..

These all sound brilliant! I haven’t read any of Jay Kristoff’s standalone fiction – only The Illuminae Files – but I really want to! Thanks for an awesome post 🙂

And I haven’t read Illuminae yet coz I’m not a sci-fi reader… but fantasy is totally my thing and Nevernight is brilliant 😃😃😃

I’ll be honest: even though Illuminae is categorised as sci-fi, I think it’s way more YA romance and kickass shenanigans than any actual science-fiction! But I hear you 🙂 I adore fantasy, so I’m going to HAVE to check Nevernight out!! ❤

Haha.. any sci-fi that doesn’t feel like sci-fi is definitely a better option for me.. so I’ll probably give it a try…
And you have to try Nevernight… I love stories of assassins 😍😍😍
