When I first saw this post on Autumn’s blog, I was just so delighted that I had to do it immediately. I have been revisiting the Throne of Glass series this month, and this tag couldn’t have come onto my radar at a better time. Whatever the problematic elements in Sarah’s books, she is a wonderful author at creating worlds and characters whom you feel invested in and I’m no different. I love these characters with all my heart and it was a joy trying to figure out some very interesting answers for this post. So, let’s get started.
𝟣. 𝐹𝒶𝓋𝑜𝓇𝒾𝓉𝑒 𝑀𝒶𝒾𝓃 𝒞𝒽𝒶𝓇𝒶𝒸𝓉𝑒𝓇: 𝒜𝑒𝓁𝒾𝓃 𝑜𝓇 𝐹𝑒𝓎𝓇𝑒?
This is a pretty easy one for me. I love Aelin with all my heart and I would choose her over anyone. She is strong and sassy and arrogant and sensitive and I admired her from the beginning. And obviously her love for clothes, books and chocolates endeared her to me even more.

𝟤. 𝐹𝒶𝓋𝑜𝓊𝓇𝒾𝓉𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝐼𝓃𝓉𝑒𝓇𝑒𝓈𝓉: 𝑅𝑜𝓌𝒶𝓃 𝑜𝓇 𝑅𝒽𝓎𝓈𝒶𝓃𝒹?
I had to think for a bit but then this is a quick answer too… Rhysand. Rhys is just one of those characters who fascinates you and you just can’t help but love him. And it’s probably the way he treats Feyre in ACOMAF and the awe he has for her that makes me love him so much, though Rowan has very similar characteristics too, and is the perfect partner for Aelin.

𝟥. 𝐵𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝐹𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝐵𝑜𝑜𝓀: 𝒯𝒽𝓇𝑜𝓃𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝒢𝓁𝒶𝓈𝓈 𝑜𝓇 𝒜 𝒞𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓉 𝑜𝒻 𝒯𝒽𝑜𝓇𝓃𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝑅𝑜𝓈𝑒𝓈?
The undeniable fact is that I gave both these books just 3 stars, so at first glance they probably have to be a tie. But, I still feel I loved Throne of Glass more because of the characters and have listened to the audiobook many times till date.

I have never liked Nesta and I still don’t. I’m not even sure I want to read her and Cassian’s book, even though I really like him. But Manon is one of the most fascinating characters of Throne of Glass. She is the perfect anti-heroine I have ever read and her character development is just awesome.

I might have given this more thought before Throne of Glass had ended, but now it’s a pretty easy choice – I love Aelin’s court. While the Inner Circle is also found family, they have been close to each other for centuries whereas Aelin’s court has to learn to trust each other through the course of the series and then fight together, and they do so very admirably.

I used to like both these wonderful female friendships equally but what Lysandra does for Aelin in Empire of Storms and Kingdom of Ash goes above and beyond any normal friendship, so I just have to choose them.

While I really hate both of them, Amarantha is definitely a much more compelling villain and her defeat at the hands of Feyre was just awesome to read about.

I like both these worlds, each having it’s own different lands with their own cultures and beliefs. But Erilea is a little special, probably because I kinda adore Terrasen and even Adarlan now that Dorian is King. Now a tougher question would have been to choose between Terrasen and Velaris, and I still don’t know the answer to that.

I might not have been a fan of Lord Chaol Westfall but I would never ever choose Tamlin over him. Chaol goes through a lot over the course of the series, and my feelings for him changed similarly, but I never questioned his love and friendship for Dorian and that’s enough for me to choose him. If only Tamlin had atleast showed that much of a regard towards Lucien….

Definitely The Assassin’s Blade. It’s an interesting collection of stories, gives us a very insightful look into Celaena’s past and had that devastating ending which makes me cry even now. ACOFAS was fun to read but it was just ok, Rhys annoyed me a little and it just was a happy story which added nothing much to my feelings about the series.
Let me keep you in suspense for a while and tag my dear friends Tanvi and Jayati for this tag because they are huge fans of Throne of Glass just like me. Anyone of you who is also a fan of SJM, please consider yourself tagged and link back to me so I can know all about your favorite series of the two.

I guess I should have seen this coming. While ACOMAF was a phenomenal book that gave me a book hangover for a month, Throne of Glass is my favorite series, my obsession and I mostly consider Aelin and Dorian my fictional best friends. I will always adore these books and I’m glad to have discovered them.
