Books I Want to Read but Don’t Want to Read Tag

img_0273

When I saw this tag on A Book A Thought blog, it looked so much fun and I wanted to do it. And right the next day, Meher @ The Scribblings tags me for the same one and I can’t tell you how excited I got. So, here I am with hopefully some fun answers for you to checkout. Also make you to hop over to their blogs for more amazing content.

||A BOOK THAT YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO READ BECAUSE EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT IT||

Internment

This book perfectly fits not only the question but also the title of the tag. I really want to read it because everyone says it’s awesome and I love Samira and I know it explores a very important topic of our times, but I’m also so scared to. Because reading it might make it all feel very real. But it’s on my library wait list and I am reading it as soon as I get it.

||A BOOK THAT’S REALLY LONG||

kingsbane

Close to 600 pages, this book is huge and intimidating. And while I want to know what’s going to happen to the characters, I’m also unsure if I want to read this mammoth after the ambivalent experience of reading Furyborn.

 ||A BOOK YOU’VE OWNED/HAD ON YOUR TBR FOR TOO LONG||

Origin

I’ve mentioned this book on my blog so many times, I haven’t even thought about reading this in a long while. I don’t know why I never feel I’m in the mood for it or even when I might be. But let’s see.

||A BOOK THAT IS ‘REQUIRED’ READING||
(EG, SCHOOL TEXT, REALLY POPULAR CLASSIC – SOMETHING YOU FEEL OBLIGATED TO READ!)

Iliad and Odyssey

I love reading books about mythology, and retellings even more. But every time I pick a book based on the Greek myths and many reviewers refer to the Iliad or the Odyssey, I just feel a whole lot of FOMO. But I’m also not sure if I want to read them or even if I will like them. But I will definitely continue to read the amazing retellings that are being published.

||A BOOK THAT INTIMIDATES YOU||

Mistborn trilogy

Not just this book, all Brandon Sanderson books intimidate me. He is so popular and everyone loves his books, but I just have this nagging feeling that they aren’t for me. But I still wanna read this trilogy, hopefully someday.

||A BOOK THAT YOU THINK MIGHT BE SLOW||

img_1204

I only think this might be slow because I’ve read some reviews. But I also know many of my friends and fellow bloggers love this, so maybe I will get it out of my bookshelf one day.

||A BOOK YOU NEED TO BE IN THE RIGHT MOOD FOR||

circe

Another book I really really want to read because The Song of Achilles was a masterpiece, but I’m hesistant about starting because I just think I have to pick it up at the right time to enjoy it thoroughly.

||A BOOK YOU’RE UNSURE IF YOU WILL LIKE||

locke lamora

I have heard great things about this book, that it’s an adult and more grittier and amazing version of Six of Crows and also that the audiobook is stunning. So, I really really wanna listen to it, but I also have a feeling I might not like it. Maybe I’ll get to decide one day.

Wow… This tag was fun. I hope you all liked reading my answers. Also, everyone please consider yourself tagged and if you decide to do it, link back to me so I can see what you have to say…!!!

  1. This is such a fun interesting tag. I’m going to add it to my book tag schedule. 🙂

    Brandon Sanderson has some shorter YA books (Steelheart, Firefight, Calamity) and a MG series (Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians), so maybe wade in with one of those before jumping into the bigger ones.

  2. Ah, i get this a lot… For me it’s usually books everyone keeps talking about, but i’m just not sure i’d like it. Cuz they are not from my usual genre. Especially intimidating when it’s a long book. I mean, i don’t have any issues when it comes to DNF, but i just don’t seem to have the courage to jump in.

  4. I agree with the internment, any Dan Brown book and the odyssey! Sanderson is one of the greatest fantasy authors ever and I rarely see people disliking his books. Like he’s the one author I’m not afraid to overhype. Maybe you’re right that mistborn will not be loved by everyone, but it’s like the gateway drug into his other series, because it’s more of an easy read, but still so fascinating. The lies of locke lamora is one of the books I know I loved when I read it, but it’s just been so long that I don’t remember what actually happens and need to read it again!!

    1. I definitely want to read Sanderson someday but I’m just used to reading simpler books… I have it on a long waitlist at my library, so in a few weeks then 😊😊😊
      I’m definitely interested in Locke Lamora but the fact that the series is not complete makes me not wanna start it yet.. I’m not good at waiting 😔😔
