My Favorite OTPs of the year

Hello my dear lovely bloggers….!!!! Today I’m here to talk about all the couples I have adored this year. As you all are already aware, I’m a sucker for a good romance novel or even a nice romantic subplot in a fantasy, so I’m always looking for couples to adore. And I’m so happy that I have already found so many adorable ones in the first half of this year. Other than being a list of my favorite OTPs of this year, you can also consider these books as some of my top reads of 2019 and I can’t wait to share them all with you.

I might have some possible spoilers, so please proceed ahead at your own risk.

Alex and Henry

red white and royal blue

As soon as I read Red, White and Royal Blue, I knew Alex and Henry were going to my THE OTP of 2019 and one of my all-time favorite couples. They are just so delightful and cute and amazing and I just want to keep rereading this book all the time.

Tea and Kalen

I started reading this because so many of my friends loved it and I was expecting a great new fantasy trilogy, but what I didn’t expect was that I would get one of my all time favorite OTPs too. Tea and Kalen’s saga of love is full of obstacles and angst, but even death can’t separate them and I can cry even thinking about them.

Tessa and Jem

Ghosts of the shadow market

I have adored Tessa and Jem since I first read the Infernal Devices, and that finale can make me weep even now. So, while I was excited to read Jem’s story again in Ghosts of the Shadow Market, I wasn’t prepared to handle all the angst and the undeniable connection between Jem and Tessa through the decades. This book just made me cry even more.

Magnus and Alec

red scrolls of magic

I don’t actually remember loving Malec during the original TMI books, but I started liking them during The Bane Chronicles and other short stories set in the world. The TV show was where I completely fell for them and then came this delightful book called The Red Scrolls of Magic, which just cemented my adoration for them. They share the most beautiful bond and the ending of Queen of Air and Darkness was the best ever..!!!!

Yumeko and Tatsumi

The love between Yumeko and Tatsumi is still in the developing stages but I already adore them and I can’t wait for them to spend more time together and get to know each other better. Soul of the Sword was exciting and heartbreaking in equal measures, but I don’t know what Night of the Dragon will do to me.

Ilya and Shane

I very rarely enjoy reading a true enemies-to-lovers relationship but Heated Rivalry gave me Shane and Ilya, whose rivalry on the ice maybe legendary, but their relationship is even more intense. And amidst all the intensity, we get one of the most beautiful  friendship development and a slow burn romance and I absolutely adored them.

Ead and Sabran

Ead and Sabran are the backbone of Priory and the development of their bond is just wonderful. And despite them being separated for a long time during the book, their feelings for each other are always at the forefront and I wish we could get another book with just them being together.

Patroclus and Achilles

Well… this is an epic love story. Reading The Song of Achilles was almost a masochistic exercise because I knew what was coming and I still wasn’t prepared. This was a total sobfest but Patroclus and Achilles will always have a special place in my heart.

Lei and Wren

girls of paper and fire

Lei and Wren’s is a love story borne out of the gravest of circumstances, so it’s just very special. They are each other’s strength in tough times and I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops into so much more in the sequel.

Rhiannon and Sam

the right swipe

I loved the dynamic of Rhi and Sam in The Right Swipe because it totally subverts the trope of an alpha male hero and soft heroine. Rhi is the fierce one here and Sam is the softest cinnamon roll hero we all deserve. I really hope they show up in the sequel as well.

Dani and Carmen

we set the dark on fire

Forbidden love that develops in the midst of a revolution in We Set the Dark on Fire, this almost rivals to lovers relationship between Dani and Carmen was intense and fiery and I can’t wait to see all the havoc it’s gonna wreak in the sequel.

Nadya and Malachiasz

Wicked saints

I probably fell in love with Wicked Saints and the couple because of all the Alina-Darkling vibes and purely for the wish fulfillment. I really enjoyed Nadya and Malachiasz’s dynamic and with the drastic events that took place towards the end, I am really tense about what’s gonna happen to their relationship.

Are any of these couples your favorites too? Who are some of your most beloved OTPs of this year? Give me all the deets in the comments below…
