Thank You, Next Book Tag

Hello my dear book bloggers….!!!! I’m back with another book tag this week, this one which I first saw on the delightful blog A Book A Thought, which you all should check out. This absolute fun tag is based on Ariana Grande’s popular song which I’m sure many of you already love (though I have to mention I don’t listen to English songs much), so I’m hoping you’ll have fun reading my answers for the tag as well….

  || Name a book that you said “thank u, next” to, i.e. DNF’d ||

uprooted

Uprooted was one of the first books I purchased based on recommendations from my favorite booktuber, in my initial days of blogging. I really did want to love it, but it was sadly not to be. I pretty much lost interest during the first 10% and never went back to it.

The Remnant Chronicles trilogy really has one very beautiful love story. And the main characters Lia and Rafe show us that sometimes, loving each other deeply also means giving it up for the sake of country and the people in it.

|| Name a book that taught you patience ||

Clockmakers daughter

I really thought something very mysterious and twisty would be revealed towards the end of The Clockmaker’s Daughter, and I read the whole thing with a lot of patience. But nah… all my patience was not rewarding and it turned out to be very unsatisfactory.

 || Name a book that taught you pain ||

finches

A Charm of Finches is a very painful and disturbing read, but also full of grit and resilience and hope. It broke me apart completely and then helped me pick up the pieces too. No words are ever enough to describe this beauty of a book.

|| Name a book that you loved at the time of reading but in hindsight you do not like as much anymore but which you still learned some other quality from ||

I might not like the Twilight saga anymore, but I will never forget that it’s one of the series that established the fact that teenage girls’ stories deserve to be told and they can have mainstream commercial appeal across the board.

|| Name a book you’re currently talking to, i.e. have the hots for ||

I’m currently in complete awe of this gorgeous cover and can’t wait to talk about it more next week on the blog.

|| Name the book that gon’ last – the book of you – the book that helped you love yourself a little bit more ||

This amazing and beautiful book called There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya has a very important message about body positivity, and I hope I can be as confident and optimistic in life as Sweetie is. She has definitely taught me to love myself a bit more the way I am and not try to change for the sake of others.
