In recent times, it has to be There’s Something About Sweetie. It’s a very optimistic and lovely read, with an amazing protagonist and very important message of body positivity.

The Candle and the flame

The Candle and the Flame totally filled me with nostalgia because it’s full of desi culture, descriptions of our food and festivals and customs, but what reminded me most of home and childhood was the generous use of Hindi/Urdu words.

One of my favorite sports romances of this year, Heated Rivalry‘s MC is Shane Hollander who is a Canadian hockey player, so you can guess how sweet and adorable he is.

Fierce Fairytales is a very unique book of retellings of all our popular fairytales but with a very feminist angle, and so many of the poems in this one made me quite emotional.

Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows is really one of the most unique and different books I’ve read in recent times – especially in it’s handling of themes like sexual desire among older women or ladies who have been forgotten by the society.

Red Queen is one of those series where I gave every single book less than or equal to 3 stars but I still read till the end, including the recently released short story bind-up Broken Throne. I still have no clue why I actually stuck with it.

My favorite bookish accessories are my notebooks and pens. I just can’t survive without gorgeous looking notebooks where I can record my thoughts about the books I read and I definitely need good pens to write them down.

      1. I totally understand! I think for me it was extremely great because it was one of the first YA books I read and therefore it kind of remains in my head as the perfect story haha! But I had extreme difficulties with the third book, it was super boring!
        And yes, waffles 😍😍😍 that tag made me so hungry haha

  5. So i really want to do this tag. I’m so excited because I rarely see people who’ve read Erotic Stories of Punjabi Widows and I LOVED it! Also, I have yet to read the final book of the Red Queen series, not because I haven’t enjoyed it, but because I’m still holding a grudge that the King’s Cage wasn’t the last book as promised lmao

      And I agree, there are only a couple of bloggers I know who’ve read Erotic Stories but they all loved it… But it’s such a unique book and so unforgettable…
      And I totally understand your feelings about RQ series…. and did you mean you haven’t read War Storm or Broken Throne?? Coz when I read War Storm, I was pretty upset too that it didn’t have a definitive ending 😬😬😬😬

  7. Ahhhh this tag has me hungrrrry. I’ve said this before and I can’t say it enough. You read such a fantastic variety of genres and your supporting them by spreading word of them all. I love that your reading is so wide spread. My variety is almost non-existent. I just take cues from you. I WANT TO READ THE CANDLE AND THE FLAME TOO. Love your choices Sahi. So much.

  8. Love this tag!! Love how you stuck in there with Red Queen. Bonus points for the novella! 😂 I’m so bad at doing this as well though! I really want to read ESFPW sometime… it seems so unconventional and interesting. Plus, the cover is gorgeous! 💙💙

    1. Haha I kinda used to stick in there before but I don’t have the patience these days.. I seem to be abandoning quite a few series now 😂😂😂
      ESFPW is definitely a very interesting book… I truly didn’t expect to love it as much as I did 😊😊
