Intimidating is definitely the right word to describe most of us blogger’s TBR’s, so when I saw this tag being done by Natacha @ Natacha in Reviewland, I knew I had to give it a try as well. Don’t forget to checkout her blog for more amazing fantasy and travel content. And now let’s get started with what I have to say…
1. A book on your TBR pile that you haven’t finished.
I started reading Mistborn last year but never managed to finish it. I’m planning on giving it a try again this year, so hopefully it’ll go better this time around.
2. A book you just haven’t had the time to read for.
It’s not that I don’t have time, but Jade War is both intimidating in it’s size as well as just how twisty it might be. So, I really need to be prepared for it before I pick it up.
3. A book you haven’t read because it’s a sequel.
Well I wouldn’t obviously plan to read a sequel without reading it’s predecessors.
4. A book you haven’t read because it’s brand new.
I’m all for reading brand new releases and I love SJM’s books, but Crescent City just released 2 days ago, it’s huge and there’s quite big waitlist at the library..
5. A book by an author you read previously but didn’t really like.
I have a very love hate relationship with Roshani’s writing. I absolutely adore her middle grade novels, DNFd her two YA novels which are based on Indian mythology (though they should have been perfect for me) and liked The Gilded Wolves moderately. The sequel for TGW is upcoming in the fall and I already have an ARC and all I hope is that I’ll enjoy it more than I’m expecting.
6. A book on your TBR pile that you’re just not in the mood to read.
An Ember in the Ashes has been on my TBR for too long, and it’s also on my 20 books to read in 2020, so I know I have to pick it up. But I just never seem to be in the mood.
7. A book on your TBR pile that you haven’t read because it’s enormous.
The Way of Kings is a very recent addition to my TBR because I bought it during a sale, but the size of it is just so damn enormous that it scares me. But I do have a buddy read planned for it after a couple of months and we shall see how it goes.
8. A book on your TBR you bought because of the cover.
I can’t deny that I was fascinated by the premise of A Memory Called Empire but that gorgeous cover totally helped in me deciding to buy the book.
9. The book on your TBR you find the most intimidating.
Vigilance is just a novella but it intimidates me because it’s set in a near future dystopia where America’s fascination with guns has been taken to the extreme. I’m kinda petrified to read it even though RJB is one of my all time favorite authors.
