Most Anticipated Releases of May

May is almost here and its time for me talk again about some of my most exciting new releases of the month. And there seem to be many this time.

This story about a romance author and literary fiction author falling in love is utterly perfect and I adored it so much.

While the author’s last year’s P&P retelling Pride, Prejudice and Other Flavors might not have lived up to my expectations, I was expecting this Persuasion retelling to be amazing. It might not have impressed me a lot, but if you like the second chance romance trope, then you might like this much more than I did.

This is a sapphic workplace romance set in Hollywood and you will love it if you are a fan of extremely slow burn romances.

The trouble with hating you

A desi enemies-to-friends-lovers story….. this was quite entertaining and the couple is amazing…!!!!!

My main draw for this book is the series title – Mercenary Librarians πŸ™‚ And I’m very very fascinated by the way the author is promoting it – Apocalyptic archivists, dystopian super soldiers and a top secret treasure map. Feels like this will be a roller coaster ride and I’m very excited to read it.

This debut promises to be full of secrets and murder and revenge, and I am fascinated by the idea of magic usage costing memories, so I’m very excited that I got the ARC.

It’s most definitely the stunning cover that prompted me to take notice of this book. There are also heiresses and murder mysteries and magical competitions here, so I’m hoping the inside is as beautiful as the outside.

By the book

A young book loving female character who tries to apply the lessons from her favorite romance novels in real life – seems like just my kind of heroine, and I can’t wait to see how successful she is in her endeavors.

Firstly, I just love this cover. And it has royal houses, dragons, a fight for the throne and an ensemble cast – it just sounds perfect and I can’t wait to read it.

A Bengali protagonist, an f/f romance and a backdrop of a henna competition, this book sounds amazing. And I’m totally in awe of that cover.

I’m obviously not a fan of this cover, because why did there have to be a snake… Ughhhh..!!!! But the premise of a young girl whose touch is cursed to be poisonous and her journey of figuring out herself sounds brilliant and I’m quite interested in reading this one.

I don’t know if I’ll actually read this prequel of The Hunger Games, but I can’t deny that it’s one of the most hyped YA releases of this year. Let’s wait and see how it turns out.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo was a brilliantly written, poignant book and this new one by the author seems to be the same – dealing with difficult family issues. I would love to get this one in audiobook if the author narrates herself because her style is excellent.

The sequel to the absolutely fun read that was A Tiger at Midnight is finally here and I hope I will read it sooner, rather than postponing like I did with the first book.

This is a dual timeline book set in the present with a young woman trying to find the truth about her grandmother, and during WWII when another young woman is trying to do her part for the resistance. These are some of my favorite kinds of stories and I’m very excited to read this.

I actually never got to read the previous anthology All Out, but I really want to read this one. I also think this one features more contemporary stories, so it’ll probably be more my kind.

Set in some kind of fantasy New York city during WWII, this book seems way out of my comfort zone but N. K. Jemisin says it’s a wonderful read and I think I wanna try. And that cover is damn intriguing.

After having completely been sucked into the world of Murderbot a few weeks ago and fallen in love with it, this novel has become one of my highly anticipated releases of this year and I can’t wait for it to fall into my hands.

I didn’t even realize the volume 4 of Fence was releasing this summer and now that it’s close, I’m so excited to meet Nick, Seiji and Bobby and everyone else. King’s Row has my whole heart.

Do you have any of these books on your TBR? What other books are your excited for this May? Let me know all about them in the comments below…

  1. There are so many fantastic books due out. I seriously can’t wait to read The Hunger Games prequel. I have to wait for the other two that I’m most desperate for here though (Girl, Serpent, Thorn & Notorious Virtues) as they have later release dates here πŸ˜” they sound incredible though.

Oh and also, Girl Serpent Thorn’s release date got shifted by two moths. I’m on a blog tour and the publisher said they decided to do it sometime in mid-July, I’m forgetting the exact date, which is a bummer but hopefully it will be met with a bigger response then πŸ™‚
